Tom and Natalie met in Seoul, South Korea, during a law school moot court competition. However, their real connection is Hawai’i where they both went to law school. When Tom heard that Natalie would be in San Francisco for work, he fibbed an excuse to fly to California to take her out to dinner. A month later, Natalie flew to NYC for their second date. When Tom got “work from home” orders from his law firm, he bought a one-way ticket to Honolulu to see Natalie the next day. This third date would last about a year and half, involve a lot of surfing, cooking, diving, and end in an engagement.
